I just read the Wikipedia article on Web 2.0 and the LJ article on Library 2.0. They are both informative and allude to many things that libraries, librarians, instructors, corporations, individuals, etc. will want to develop and use in the future.
OK, the future is now! We all want communication via our computers to be fun and efficient, so most of us are eagerly anticipating these new things and whatever comes after them.
Information competency can receive a much needed boost in that students can be taught skills necessary for academic research. I see this as one of the most important applications of Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 for an academic library.

Nice going, Key Lime. You've got the right idea. Our students could certainly need those skills and we need the skills to keep up with them!
